BloodStone River - Prologue

Legend says that once our land was a peaceful land. The lands were so rich; our people never went hungry. The weather was always perfect. There were no illness. No sadness. All this was because of our queen. She was enchanted, beautiful and extremely kind. She had a power to wish and her wish would come true. When our land needed rain, she'd wish for rain and the rain would come. The power to call the sun out when we needed it. We lived a peaceful life. We were all happy.

However...one day a dark force roamed over the land causing plague, storms, hatred and jealously. Demons started roaming the once green lands. Our people started building great domes with great cities and villages inside to escape the plague which lurked on the outside.

Our queen fought this force with all her might. With the last of her strength she made her wish, "Hear my prayer..." she whispered, "and save my people. Rid my land of this evil." Her wish failed. She was pulled into deep ice and was hidden away on our planet. Her fate was eternal sleep.

Legend says that when she fell her heart broke into many stones which fell across the planet. 'Bloodstones' we call them.

Legend says if someone were to collect all the stones and reunite them with our queen she shall awaken and return our world to peace. But for that to happen someone must venture the outside where demons, sickness and many other things run wild. You must travel down...BloodStone River.

The Oracle - Chapter One (Draft) & Notes

The Oracle looked at Aladdin with her bright wide eyes, "I know all that has happened and will happen, but I am bound to the rule of one. One question only."

Chapter One -

The sun had set several hours ago, its fadeing orange glow taking the warmth of the desert with it. The night sky had taken over, and the land below it responded by turning into a sea of blue sand. In the distance the sun marked the horizon, teasing the poor peasant who didn't long for the scorching heat of the desert's sun but the warmth the day time brings. The rags that covered him provided him little heat as his body tried to make up for it by shivering violently. His dark eyes scanned over every sandy dune in hopes for a city, shelter, or light, just in hopes someone, something would come but all he could see was the teasing horizon. The wind picked up it's pace around the old man pulling at his cape making him fall back into the dancing blue dust. It engulfed around him like a small tornado, little specks falling into his already bloodshot eyes.

He cried out frustrated and laid back into the sand letting it drown him into the dry soil. He held his eyes tightly shut but his tears still escaped him. "What future is there for me now?" he sobbed.

"He desired your wife." A feminine voice responded in an apathetic manner, "but you already knew that."

The peasant man's eyes and body shot up at the divine voice, "Who...who are you?" he gaped at the bright woman before him. She was enclosed with a white light marking her form and features; white hair cascading behind her for what seemed like miles disregarding with gravity and the roaring wind around her. Her body, small, glowed brilliantly with the light forming a dress elevated above the ground, even the shadows were a form of light. Her skin was even captivated by the light, creating the purest shade of white possible. However what stood out most about her was her face, that showed neither happiness or cheerless, her eyes could not be seen in to. "...an...an...angel?"

"I am bound to the rule of one. One question only." She answered in an apathetic manner once more. A slender finger pointed in the opposite direction of the teasing sun, "Go into the darkness and you will find your hope, do not follow the sun for it will continue to drift away."

The peasant man, still gaping and daring not argue, tumbled through the sand, turning towards the darken-in sky. "...and you will find your hope." Echoed within his mind, taking strong strides into the darkness, somehow forgetting within seconds of the marvelous creature that stood behind him.

She stared after the man, her lips loosing their stern hold forming a heavy frown and her eyes lost their glow showing the dark brown shade glistering with tears that was hidden behind. "Sorry" the woman's voice whispered, as finally the light swallowed her into a jade gem perched on a golden rod. It fell back into the sand letting the sand bury it deep within the earth's surface.

Author's Notes: My Oracle is based off of Disney's Aladdin and The Forty Thieves Oracle from the movie. My brother was watching it one day and for some reason that time (compared to like the 80 other times I've seen it) a story idea popped into my mind for the Oracle. I'm sure there's probably some actual legend behind it that I haven't been able to get my hands on it yet.

Anyway, I don't own the movie (copyright wise), blah blah, but can I say I own the character? I don't know...but I DO own the story line and idea and anything similar (names, characters, plot) is purely on coincidential. Yadda yadda yadda...enjoy. ^^

*Also as a first draft I remain the right to say I need to do a lot of editing, yes I know. Okie dookies~

Frivolous by Nature - Prologue (Draft)

In a dark room the walls echoed off the sounds of flat shoes walking and the occasional "oofs!" and "Damnit!" until I, Lan Phan, walked into the spotlight. "Hi..." I started nervously; talking in front of crowds just wasn't my thing. "my name is Lan and I.... am a complete lunatic. Heh."

...No laughter. Just the sound of silence somehow becoming alarming within my head.

Im not much of an author, but I know usually when people write stories they write from their own experience or from something they wonder about. I end up doing both, but I annoy myself when writing about something related about myself. It is then a voice shouts from the crowd. "Loser! We know its about you!"

How embarrassing...I end up wanting to change the story. Which is why I never end up finishing any of my stories in the first place, so I needed a story that wasn't written to be similar but about me. I am going to write about me.

"Get off the stage!"
"Where is Shinhwa!? I want Shinhwa!"

...and the wonderful voices that reside within my head.

Candlelight (Draft?)

On the eve of January 1st, 2006 I sat in a small room litted only by a large white candle between the giggling best friend of mine and me. "I can't concentrate..." she complained, letting her short attention span take over. I opened my eyes to look at her, sitting cross legged and large hazel eyes trying to concentrate on the flickering yellow light. My eyes came down to concentrate on the light as well, watching the heat slowly melt the white wax creating a small puddle.

I thought back to when we were in craft store earlier that day, searching for the perfect white candle, and determined that doing this would help us in the New Year.

"Okay, so I couldn't find any spells that didn't cost some money," I said, "...so I figured we'd just get a bunch of things that mean clarity and do something ourselves." I said.

"You know, sometimes people use alcohol as cleansing, maybe we should find some."

My mind clicked at the sudden idea, "I know!" I clapped, "We should put the candle in a bowl of alcohol!" I was answered with her staring at me as if I was insane. "…what?"

"Alcohol. Candle." Stressing each syllable carefully. "Do you want blow us up!?"

A smile formed on my face, laughing at my own stupidity. "Just relax," I finally responded to her, "breathe."

What did I want in the new year? 'Everything...' My eyes opened again, letting the small dancing flame seduce me with its light warmth. How I longed to become a more outgoing person and not to feel like this anymore, whatever it was I was feeling. 'I'm going to be true to myself and my emotions.'

Midnight struck, telling us the year was over with, and along with the year it took the candle light with it.
